Patch Davinci Resolve Studio 18.x-20.x to think it's activated
Some users are experiencing a rendering bug in versions >18.6.2. This is possibly an antipiracy measure. Resolve is incredibly annoying to analyze due to its size, and I am currently very busy, but I am planning to check this out further once I have the time. Either use 18.6.2 or render the output with padding to the top, then cut the padding back off with ffmpeg.
I have released a patch to fix the patcher for 20.x versions. Please update to 20.x versions of Resolve and use the newest version of the patcher.
Due to the very time consuming process of analyzing Resolve, and my current lack of time to spend on passion projects, updates may be very sporadic or not happen at all. There are time-tested versions that work (20.0.49, 18.6.2).
- Go to the Support Page and find your desired version of Davinci Resolve Studio. Ideally 20.x or 18.6.2.
- Install Davinci Resolve Studio
- Run the precompiled release OR install Rust and run
cargo runin the project folder - If using 20.x or above, and the code fails to set the environment variable globally, set a global environment var called
RLM_LICENSEtoblackmagic.lic. - Done
This is a research project and is not intended to allow piracy.
